Life
Been very busy of late! Spent some time travelling. Met up with friends in the Netherlands for a friends wedding. Busy prepping for trips in June (Sweden meet up with friends) & July (trip to Berlin for a convention).
The wife and I have begun working on our cosplay projects for the remaining conventions coming up this year, though, naturally it is more her project right now as she is the one with the tailoring skills and experience. I do have my own small projects to work on soon for this though!
Also been dealing with a lot of hand and joint pain. Looking into ways to alleviate and reduce it, as its having an affect on my ability to be as productive as I would like. One of my attempted fixes is another new keyboard, something more ergonomic and less painful to use. I've also invested in some standing desk legs, but I'll need to borrow the father in law to help me attach my current desks top to them properly.
Reading
Countdown to Zero Day: Stuxnet and the Launch of the World's First Digital Weapon by Kim Zetter. Feels oddly topical right now, started reading it a while back, need to finish it.
Work / Projects
Mostly working on different projects to my last update here! No rust this month and no more work done on Clippings, though the beta is functioning well!
Some of this past week has been spent editing keyboard firmware for my new Lily58 Pro (V2), purchased from Khor. Strongly recommend his site for anyone looking to buy a split keyboard kits with a personal touch and cables/custom PCBS for various keyboard form factors. Spending a lot of time in Rust lately.
Learning
German studies finished and as summer is very busy with trips and plans, I've put off more of my course learning for later. Though, I do feel much more confident in my day to day German interactions, even if they're a bit more limited right now due to travel.
Small things
- Fixed an issue with my Lily58's firmware that was causing it to not boot properly when the PC was powered on. It turns out its a hardware based issue, but my firmware fix seems to have alleviated the problem on a cold boot, so I'm okay with that for now.
